I made many prints for this project, but my favourate print is the strawberry. Below this is the tape measure printed with masking tape lines addes to give it colour.
I made these prints within the first week of the Printing Modual we are currently doing. The shapes of the strawberries don't fully fit together which gives the print a bit of character. I have stitched into the bottom print.
I finally finished my 15 hour textile exam today, despite many things going wrong! I am very pleased with the finished result and glad its all over!I printed and dyed the fabrics before I covered the chair in them
I screen printed the frame of these chairs. I then used long hand stitching to fill in the seat covers on the seat on the left. I couched these stitches down which has given the chairs vertical lines. I then scanned this chair into the computer and using photo shop, I reduced the size of the image then repeated and flipped it. I printed the design I made onto image transfer paper which meant I could then iron The image onto fabric. I then cut out the shape of the chair covers and ironed the pieces onto the backing fabric.
These three chairs are screen prints on differnt fabrics. I did this print in three layres starting with the frame of the chair and endiing with the flowers. The flowers were quite hard to do and the stencil broke pretty quickly.
I finally handed this garment in today! It is a male waistcoat which has various different types of fabric manipulation on it. It was very time consuming because of this! My favourite part is the section two up from the bottom, this is star gathering.
This is now the work I have done this year. This is an origami boat that has been made out of a photograph of water. I then free machined and hand stitched into the boat.
I decorated this child’s welly for my AS textile Exam. The theme of which was 'Back Gardens'. I painted bond-a-web and ironed it onto fabric to give texture to the grass, pond and flowers. I then free machined over the flowers. Then I put a hessian trim round the edges of the boot.
This was one of the samples I did for my cell project. For this sample I used ordinary black cotton fabric which I then painted on with bleach. The bleach then took away the dye in the fabric leaving it white. I love the effect it gave.
